Why Custom

The most obvious reason for selecting custom cabinets and furniture is that you can have exactly what you want. Dan Duncan will come to your home, look at your kitchen, talk with you about the things you like and don’t like about it, discuss your ideas and show you his portfolio. You should never hesitate to share your thoughts on your project with Dan; he welcomes your input and wants to create a design that fits your needs.

Together you can choose the types of wood, hardware and moldings that will work best with your cabinets. Dan will study the project and decide whether machined or hand-worked materials are more efficient for the job. Either way, your cabinets will be far superior to non-custom, factory cabinets.

Perhaps the most common misconception is that custom cabinets are more expensive. This is simply not the case. With Dan Duncan custom cabinets, installation is included and only the best materials are used, so your cabinets last longer. Your custom cabinets will be built to fit your space and your needs, and will add timeless beauty and lasting value to your home.

All Dan Duncan designs are hand-drawn, one-of-a-kind works of art. You receive the true custom cabinets your kitchen deserves, expertly created to fit your space – and your life – perfectly. Dan specializes in design creativity, and understands that great results evolve from detailed and accurate drawings. All great woodworkers know to measure twice, and cut once; they understand how important preliminary preparations are to the finished product.

Whether your tastes trend toward contemporary or timeless, Dan has the vision, skill and experience to design custom cabinets you will be proud to show your friends and guests.

Dan Duncan custom cabinets are crafted from the finest materials using superior construction techniques. Cabinets are made with ¾-inch hardwood plywood, rich veneers, your choice of traditional and exotic wood, European-style drawer slides and hinges, as well as soft-close drawers and doors. Custom-designed and custom-made crown moldings enhance many of his products.

Dan uses dovetail and mortise and tenon joints to create strong drawers and doors, and each cabinet features solid wood shelf edges applied with tongue and groove construction. He even developed his own tenon machine, which enables him to work faster and more efficiently.

Dan always strives to use the best finishing processes available. Finishing wood products is a complex and intricate process that takes years to master. He spares no expense and puts tremendous effort into finishing his cabinets, and if he is not satisfied with the results he will strip it away and apply it again until he achieves the finish his clients expect and deserve.

A quest for perfection and devotion to his craft are among the reasons Dan Duncan custom cabinets can be found not only in East Tennessee, but all across the country, from New York to California. Satisfied customers are his primary source of new business. Experience for yourself why his custom cabinets are among the most sought after in the industry.
